Pitch & Putt Golf Course
History
Harvey and Priscilla Hurd, along with the City of Nanaimo, opened the Beban Park Pitch 'n Putt golf course with 9 holes in May 1999 and then a second 9 holes was opened in May 2000. Ross Rivers from Vista Golf Designs was the contractor for the construction of the course. Part of the construction project included the walking trail around the perimeter of the course.
In April 2011 a full size driving range 317 yards long with 21 mats (of which 6 are covered stalls) was opened.. There is also have a grass hitting area, short game practice area for pitching and chipping, a practice sand trap and a putting green. The driving range has now expanded to 24 mats still with 6 covered stalls. We offer many Golf Lesson Programs by our Certified Instructors to all levels and all ages.
The course and the driving range are open year round from 8:00 am to dark. The course is 11 holes with the longest hole measuring 90 yards, totalling 833 yards. It is perfect for beginners, families and anyone looking for a quick and enjoyable round of golf.
